Our trip to California

We had a lot of fun in July as well. We spent a week in California. The first day was filled with driving and trying to spend a nice day at the beach. It was so cold! I tried to get in the water, but I spent most of the time covered up with a blanket. Kevin, bless his heart, got right out there and played in the water and sand with the kids.

Catching Up...

I have been such a slacker about blogging. I have to confess. I am a blog stalker. I love to look at all of my friend's blogs, but I have a hard time updating my own blog. I normally say it is because life is boring, but we have done a ton of fun stuff this summer. This is probably the busiest we have ever been. Now is the time for catching up. We have had many visitors, which makes us very happy. We will start back with the beginning of summer. We kicked off the summer with a visit to sunny Arizona. We enjoyed spending time with our cousins, and even went camping. We went to the Grand Canyon, which was a first for me as well as the kids.

Lied Children's Museum

Last week for our play group with church we went to the Lied Children's Museum. There are a lot of different exhibits. The kids got to make dragons for Chinese New Year. Heidi intently watched the demonstration on liquid nitrogen and got to try a few freeze dried miniature marshmallows. The first picture is of the kids in a hurricane tunnel. The wind speed inside got up to 72 mph! There was a stage complete with costumes to dress up in. Heidi is playing a harp with invisible strings. Huge tables filled with soap and water to make large bubbles. We were told that the exhibits change often so it makes it worth checking out again. It was a lot of fun and we would definately recommend going if you have the chance.

Trip to the dentist

I know everyone probably thinks we have fallen off the face of the Earth. I was just so far behind on posts. I was going to do one for Christmas, but then it was way past Christmas. So now I have decided to just start from now.
Last week both kids had their first trip to the dentist and boy was it momentous. I have always brushed my kids teeth, but apparently I wasn't doing a good job or they just have my horrible soft teeth. Heidi ended up having 6 or more cavities filled and two caps put on two of her bottom molars. I knew we were in trouble with Ryan because both of his front teeth were badly decayed. He had to have caps put on his two front teeth. We were so blessed to have a very good family friend who is a pediatric dentist in Henderson. He did an awesome job and the kids were actually sad to leave his office. If you have the option between pediatric and a regular dentist go for the pediatric. There is a HUGE difference. His office was so fun and so aimed towards the kids. Both kids were put under sedation so they wouldn't remember what was going on. It was quite comical to what Ryan wobble around and fall over afterwards. I can't get the pictures to do what I want so you will have to deal with them being sideways. The last two pictures are a before and after of Ryan. The difference is incredible. Thank you so much Dr. Chad at Anthem Pediatric Dentistry!
